Donation for Heritage Breed Photo Project
In 2017 I started working on a photo project which focuses mainly on heritage breed farm animals. Many of these breeds are in danger of extinction. Heritage Breed farm animals are much like your Heirloom veggies...they are old fashioned varieties that have fallen out of favor with today's modern agricultural practices. Maybe they don't grow as big or as fast as what commercial agriculture demands. As a result, many of these breeds of livestock and poultry have seen a population decline which causes great concern.
It is my goal to visit small Missouri farmers who have these rare breeds. My intentions are to accumulate enough images and stories to compile a coffee table book that will be both beautiful and educational. As I work on my project I am adding images to my website and creating pieces that I take with me to art shows. Here I am able to talk with folks one on one about my project and farm animals in danger of extinction. It gives me great pleasure to raise awareness and along the way I have been able to donate a portion of my proceeds to the Livestock Conservancy which is a national organization working to prevent extinction of these rare breeds. While the majority of people are aware that Tigers and Rhinos are endangered, very few know that Mammoth Donkeys, Randall Cattle, and Arapawa Goats are also CRITCIALLY ENDANGERED. It is my goal to not only shed a light on this matter, but to also make a positive difference.
With your help I can continue my photo project and work to bring about a change for the good.
This is a one time donation but if you are interested, you may become a supporter on my Patreon Page where you can select to give as little at $1 a month or as much as you would like on an ongoing commitment. Either way, I thank you for your kindness and belief in my project as I continue to bring heritage breed farm animals into the spotlight.
